Stillman's Haskins, Wade claim Week 7 HBCUAC Softball Weekly Awards
NEW ORLEANS - March 24, 2025 - Stillman College outfielder Lauren Haskins wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Softball Player of the Week and Jasmine Wade garners Pitcher of the Week. The women were recognized for their performances between March 17-23, the conference announced on Monday.
Haskins picks up her third weekly honor. She posted a .615 batting average with eight runs scored, five RBIs, two stolen bases, two triples, two doubles, and a home run - leading the Tigers to a sweep over Voorhees University. Haskins posted a 1.231 slugging percentage and racked up 16 total bases. Defensively, she was perfect playing both shortstop and left field. Haskins is the HBCUAC leader with a .495 batting average, four home runs and 23 stolen bases.
Wade was dominant in HBCUAC action this weekend against Voorhees. She posted four strikeouts and allowed just two hits in five innings for a Game 1 victory. She struck out eight batters in 4 2/3 innings in relief on Sunday. Wade leads the conference with seven wins, she ranks fifth with a 3.95 earned-run average and 35 strikeouts.
