Stillman off to NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round
NEW ORLEANS - May 8, 2025 - The Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) regular season and tournament champion Stillman College softball team's National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Softball National Championship Opening Round and regional and opponents are revealed. It earned the No. 4 seed in the Chickasha Regional and will face the No. 1 seed University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on May 12.
The Opening Round is a double-elimination tournament from May 12-15. The winner of each regional will advance to the NAIA Softball World Series held May 22-28 at South Commons Complex in Columbus, Georgia. The Tigers will face the Drovers at 3 p.m. on May 12. The winner will face the winner between No. 2 seed Grand View University (Iowa) and No. 3 seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) at 3 p.m. on May 13, while the losers will meet at noon.
Stillman (33-11) dominated the HBCUAC with a 15-0 record. It continued in the tournament as it outscored its opponents 29-10 and won all three games by at least four runs. This is the second consecutive appearance for the Tigers.
