Voorhees' Hill, Copeland claim Week 6 HBCUAC Baseball Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS - March 10, 2025 - Voorhees University baseball players Jordyn Hill wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Baseball Player of the Week and Keith Copeland garners Pitcher of the Week. The pair were honored for their performances between March 3-9, the conference announced on Monday.
Hill batted .615, hit four home runs and drove in nine runs to lead the Tigers to a sweep over Philander Smith University on Friday and Saturday. Three of his home runs came in the opener, which helped Voorhees win 23-17. Hill went 4-for-5 in the series opener with three runs and eight RBIs. He went 3-for-4 in the finale with two doubles and a run. For the week he had a 1.692 slugging percentage. Hill's four home runs rank second in the conference.
Copeland only allowed one run on three hits in seven innings this week. Most of his work came in the second game against Philander Smith on Friday. He struck out six batters and did not walk anyone. He threw a scoreless inning against Spartanburg Methodist University on Tuesday.

The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
