Fisk's Jeffries, Williams earn Week 10 HBCUAC Men's Basketball Awards
NEW ORLEANS - Fisk University's Kaleb Jeffries wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week. Kahvonn Williams claims Defensive Player and Newcomer of the Week. The men were recognized for their performances between December 22 and January 4.
Jeffries erupted for 32 points on a 12-for-19 shooting performance, including hitting eight of 15 three-pointers in 25 minutes off the bench. He helped the Bulldogs defeat University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy 132-80 on Saturday. This is Jeffries' second and third weekly honor.
Williams averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in two contests last week. Twelve of his 19 rebounds were on defense. He also contributed three steals. Williams recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday's victory over UHSP.

About the HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The HBCUAC membership includes Dillard University (LA), Fisk University (TN), Huston-Tillotson University (TX), Oakwood University (AL), Paul Quinn College (TX), Philander Smith University (AR), Rust College (MS), Southern University at New Orleans (LA), Stillman College (AL), Talladega College (AL), Tougaloo College (MS), University of the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas), Voorhees University (SC), Wilberforce University (OH), and Wiley University (TX). In 2022, the HBCUAC secured the largest media rights deal in conference and NAIA history, signing a multimillion-dollar deal with Urban Edge Network. On July 1, 2024, the conference rebranded from the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) to the HBCU Athletic Conference, marking a new era for the conference that embodies the makeup of its membership.
