Dillard's Morris, Voorhees University's Burris win Week 5 HBCUAC Men's Track and Field Weekly Awards
NEW ORLEANS - April 7, 2025 - Dillard University's Jamaal Morris Jr. claims Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and Voorhees University's Jayden Burris takes home Field Athlete of the Week. The men were honored for their performance between March 31 and April 6, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Morris won the 200-meter dash at the Pelican Relays with a time of 21.08, which surpassed the 'A' qualifying standard and ranks eighth in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. He topped 44 athletes, mainly from National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I schools. He finished in the top 10 of 45 athletes with a time of 10.47 in the 100-meter dash.
Burris won the long jump at the University of West Georgia Legends Invitational. His distance of 7.41 meters surpassed the 'A' qualifying standard and topped 35 athletes. Burris ranks eighth in the NAIA.

About HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
