Stillman, Dillard, Oakwood, Fisk claim Week 15 HBCUAC WBB Honors
NEW ORLEANS - February 10, 2025 - Stillman College women's basketball player Jamariah Turner wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Offensive Player of the Week. Dillard University's Cassidy Lowe repeats as Defensive Player of the Week. Oakwood University's Saniya Keys garners Freshman of the Week for the fifth straight week. Fisk University's Keeli Burton-Oliver takes home Newcomer of the Week for the third time. The athletes were recognized for their performances between February 3-9, the conference announced on Monday.
Turner brings home her first weekly honor. She averaged 21 points per game in two contests this week. Turner hit 57.7 percent of her shots, including 46.2 percent from 3-point territory. Her performance helped the Tigers get closer to clinching the HBCUAC regular season title. Turner also contributed three offensive rebounds and three assists.
Lowe grabbed 16 rebounds with 11 on defense, stole the ball four times and blocked three shots in Dillard's victory over Southern University at New Orleans on Saturday. The win helps the Lady Bleu Devils keep pace with Stillman College for the HBCUAC regular season title. Lowe ranks third in the conference with 10.9 rebounds per game.
Keys recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Stillman College on Thursday, claiming her 15th weekly honor. She hit nine of her 14 shot attempts and provided two assists and two blocks. Keys continues to lead the HBCUAC with 18.1 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.
Burton-Oliver averaged 15.5 points and eight rebounds per game in two contests last week. She recorded a double-double with season-highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds in Fisk's victory over Rust College on Saturday. She added three blocks and two assists. Burton-Oliver ranks seventh in the conference with 26 blocks and eighth with 108 field goals.

About HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The HBCUAC membership includes Dillard University (LA), Fisk University (TN), Oakwood University (AL), Philander Smith University (AR), Rust College (MS), Southern University at New Orleans (LA), Stillman College (AL), Talladega College (AL), Tougaloo College (MS), University of the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas), Voorhees University (SC), Wilberforce University (OH), and Wiley University (TX).
