Fisk, VIrgin Islands, SUNO garner Week 2 HBCUAC Women's Basketball Awards
NEW ORLEANS - November 4, 2025 - Fisk University's Kayla Lee wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Offensive Player of the Week. University of the Virgin Islands Keshara Romain takes home Defensive Player and Newcomer of the Week. Southern University at New Orleans' Katelynn Wilson earns Freshman of the Week. The women were recognized for their performance between October 27-November 2, the conference announced Tuesday.
Lee averaged 28.5 points per game leading the Lady Bulldogs to two victories. She scored a career-high 29 points against Brewton-Parker College on Friday. She followed that performance with 28 points in an 81-75 victory over NAIA Championship qualifier University of Mobile on Saturday. She made the most of her opportunities from the free throw line, hitting 22 for 25.
Romain blocked seven shots, including four in a victory over Atlantis University on October 27. She blocked three shots against Ozark Christian College on Thursday. Romain averaged 15.5 rebounds per game with eight on the defensive end. She also recorded three steals.
Wilson helped the Lady Knights to two victories, averaging 18.5 points per game. She hit a key 3-pointer that helped seal a victory over Louisiana Christian University on Tuesday. Wilson hit 42.4 percent of her shots including 63.6 percent on Saturday against Harris-Stowe State University on Saturday. She hit 40 percent from 3-point territory. For the Week Wilson added 10 assists, seven rebounds and seven steals.

About the HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
