Wiley quartet captures Week 5 Women's Soccer Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS - September 29, 2025 - Wiley University midfielder Nadia Hernandez wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Leah Ramirez garners Defensive Player of the Week. Feryi Sanchez earns Freshman of the Week. Alondra Limon takes home Newcomer of the Week. The women were honored for their performance between September 22-28, the conference announced on Monday.
Hernandez contributed to three goals in Friday's 9-0 victory over Arlington Baptist University. She picked up her second and third assists of the season and scored her fourth goal of the season. Hernandez ranks in the top five of the conference in goals, assists and points.
Ramirez made her second appearance and first start at goalkeeper. She earned her second victory after holding Arlington Baptist scoreless for over 55 minutes. Ramirez stopped the only shot she faced.
Sanchez netted her third goal of the season in the 78th minute. She shared the team lead in shots with six, putting three on goal. Sanchez is tied for fifth in the conference in goals. This is her second weekly honor.
Limon scored her first two goals in a Wildcat uniform. They came in the first three minutes of the second half, which extended the Lady Wildcats' lead. Three of her four shots were on goal.

The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
