Huston-Tillotson, Dillard clinch Week 3 HBCUAC Women's Track and Field Awards
NEW ORLEANS - Huston-Tillotson University sprinter Chaleica Booker repeats as Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Women's Track and Field Track Athlete of the Week. Danae Chris-Anderson claims Newcomer of the Week. Dillard University jumper Tatiana Clay earns Field Athlete and Freshman of the Week. They were recognized for their performance between March 23-29, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Booker met the NAIA 'A' standard for national championship qualification in the 400-meter run with a time of 54.83 besting 21 competitors, half of whom were NCAA Division I athletes at the Prairie View A&M Relays on Saturday. She ran a leg on HT's 4x100-meter relay team that met the NAIA 'B' standard for qualification with a time of 46.80 seconds. Booker finished ahead of 11 NCAA Division I runners in the 400-meter event at Baylor's Clyde Hart Classic on Saturday.
Clay jumped 5.62 meters in the long jump besting 18 athletes, mostly from NCAA Division I school's in Friday's Prairie View A&M Relays. Her distance was 0.16 meters from the 'B' qualifying standard and leads the conference. Earlier this season she ran on the No. 4 ranked 4 x 100-meter relay team.
Anderson set a personal best in the 1500-meter run at the PVAMU Relays at 5:21.82. She was the top NAIA finisher in both the 800- and 1500-meter events at the Prairie View relays. She finished third among athletes not from NCAA schools in the 800-meter run.

The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
