Talladega, Wiley gain Week 6 HBCUAC Women's Track and Field Honors
NEW ORLEANS - Talladega College sprinter and jumper Lamoy Duffus wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week. Wiley University thrower Tikeria Miller claims Freshman of the Week. They were honored for their performance between April 13-19, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Duffus finished second in a field of 22 runners in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.60 at the University of Alabama-Huntsville Rocket City Invitational. She also finished runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 11.45 meters, which leads the HBCU Athletic Conference.
For the second consecutive week, Miller threw a personal best in the discus. Her throw of 34.95 meters was fourth. She also turned in a podium finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 35.26 meters. Miller holds the program record in the hammer throw.

About the HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
